Position Specific Description
NextEra is seeking a high-impact Manager of Business Management to join the Transformation Office within the Business Management organization. Business Management owns the P&L for one of the largest renewable asset portfolios in the world and is responsible for ensuring these assets meet financial commitments through:
  • Acting as the CEO of the assets
  • Maximizing revenue and optimizing operational performance
  • Driving optimal commercial and regulatory outcomes

In this role, you will operate as a strategic thought partner to senior leaders across Business Management, Finance, and Power Generation (PGD), helping shape and execute a new generation of strategic finance capabilities that enhance decision-making and asset value.
You will be expected to navigate high levels of ambiguity, structure complex and unstructured problems, and translate insights into actionable recommendations that drive measurable financial impact. This includes partnering closely with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities to optimize asset performance, improve risk-adjusted returns, and strengthen capital allocation decisions across the portfolio.
A core focus of this role will be supporting the development and scaling of strategic finance concepts-such as advanced scenario modeling, value-based decision frameworks, and integrated operational-financial insights-in close collaboration with PGD and other key stakeholders. You will play a critical role in bridging strategy and execution, ensuring ideas translate into tangible outcomes.
Success in this role requires strong problem solving, exceptional communication and stakeholder influence skills, and the ability to synthesize complex financial, operational, and market data into clear, executive-ready narratives. You will work across functions including Operations, Finance, and Analytics to align priorities, challenge assumptions, and drive adoption of new ways of working.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic finance initiatives that improve asset-level decision-making, risk-adjusted returns, and capital allocation across the renewable portfolio.
  • Partner closely with Business Management, PGD, Finance, and other stakeholders to identify and execute opportunities to optimize asset performance, total cost, and long-term value creation.
  • Structure complex, ambiguous business problems into clear analyses, decision frameworks, and executive recommendations that support timely and effective action.
  • Develop and scale strategic finance concepts and tools, including scenario modeling, value-based decision frameworks, and operational-financial analyses that connect asset behavior to financial outcomes.
  • Translate complex financial and operational data into clear narratives and presentations for senior leadership, enabling alignment, influence, and decisive action.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives from concept through implementation, ensuring strong ownership, stakeholder alignment, and measurable business impact.
  • Challenge existing assumptions and ways of working, helping the organization adopt more rigorous, insight-driven approaches to forecasting, prioritization, and performance improvement.
  • Support the development of business-facing products and analyses that integrate financial, operational, and market data into workflows that improve commercial and operational decision-making.
  • Monitor outcomes and track value realization, tying work back to strategic goals, financial performance, and portfolio optimization.

Highly Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree
  • 8+ years of experience in strategic finance, corporate strategy, consulting, transformation, FP&A, or other highly analytical business roles.
  • Strong finance foundation, including experience with financial modeling, scenario analysis, business cases, and assessing tradeoffs across risk, return, and capital allocation.

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex analyses into clear, concise, executive-ready presentations and recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to independently build high-quality analyses and communications for leadership audiences.
  • Strong track record of leading strategic initiatives from problem definition through execution and impact realization.
  • Ability to connect operational drivers, asset-level realities, and financial outcomes to support better decision-making.
