Operational Business Management, Manager
What you will do
Let's do this. Let's change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for supporting operational financial planning, resource forecasting, and workforce management activities to ensure operational efficiency and financial discipline within Global Development Operations. This role supports GDO budget forecasting, hiring plan management, and resource capacity planning activities, while providing operational analyses and insights to help ensure resources are effectively staffed, deployed, and managed in alignment with portfolio priorities, organizational goals, and budgetary targets.
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with GDO and cross-functional stakeholders (Finance, HR, IT, and allied functions) to support budget planning, forecasting, resource management, and operational planning aligned with portfolio priorities, business goals, and financial targets.
  • Track and manage GDO functional and non-resource budgets, identifying key cost drivers, efficiency opportunities, and variances versus plan.
  • Contribute analyses and recommendations to support investment prioritization, operational trade-offs, and business planning.
  • Support resource capacity planning across the clinical portfolio, including employees, contingent workers, and functional service providers.
  • Manage workforce forecasts, hiring plans, and resource allocation models to meet portfolio demand and organizational priorities.
  • Monitor resource demand, staffing levels, and hiring progress; identify and escalate risks, constraints, and gaps.
  • Drive alignment between resource supply and portfolio demand in response to evolving business needs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure accurate, effective budget and resource management processes.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency, forecasting accuracy, resource utilization, and business processes across the clinical trial ecosystem.

Associate's degree and 8 years of Business Operations / Workforce & Financial Planning experience

High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Business Operations / Workforce & Financial Planning experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in budget planning, resource management, workforce planning, operations management, or business operations within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or related industry.
  • Experience supporting budget planning, forecasting, variance analysis, and resource capacity management in a matrixed organization.
  • Knowledge of clinical development operations, portfolio planning, and resource management processes.
  • Proficiency with data visualization, reporting, and planning tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SAP, Anaplan, or similar platforms).

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
