Job description

Join the dynamic team at Guardian Life as aBusiness Intelligence Analyst III and be part of a data-driven environment. This role focuses on improving risk management and operational efficiency in our Underwriting and Operations vertical. Collaborate with BI Consultants, end users, and IT teams to convert data into critical information for sound business decisions. Your insights will be highly accurate, actionable, and reliable, contributing to the education and training of business partners and clients. In this role, you will be responsible for providing leadership with comprehensive information gathering, structured documentation, and the effective presentation of findings to management at all levels.

You will

  • Work independently on highly complex, cross-functional, analytical projects, proactively addressing business needs.
  • Provide analytical subject matter expertise and recommendations to the Underwriting & Operations organization.
  • Participate in workstream planning processes, including inception, technical design, development, testing, and delivery of BI analytics solutions.
  • Analyze functional business processes and requirements, contributing to the development of arguments supporting process changes and IT projects.
  • Provide design support for the development of business intelligence solutions for Underwriting and Operations, collaborating closely with business leaders and technical partners.
  • Engage in project management estimation processes and develop cases for lean business.
  • Explore data to discover patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies, and trends.
  • Perform analysis for a wide range of requests using data in various formats and from multiple platforms.
  • Develop standard methodologies for report deployments, ensuring detailed metrics are documented and tracked.
  • Align BI technologies with central initiatives, keeping up to date with BI products/tools and business strategies and direction.
  • Identify and provide input on new technology opportunities that will impact Enterprise-wide BI systems.

You have

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, Finance, etc.), specialized training/certification or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Business Analysis / Business Intelligence Analysis or related technical fields.
  • REQUIRED experience within insurance and/or healthcare organizations, specifically in Operations and/or Underwriting analytics.
  • Proficiency with databases, SQL, and business intelligence tools (Business Objects, Alteryx, Informatica, Databricks, etc.).
  • Strong working knowledge of Operations & Underwriting business functions, processes, and transactions.
  • High level of experience with technology system processes, reporting functions, and methodologies.
  • Ability to work effectively with associates across Group Insurance (Finance, Actuarial, Claims, Valuation, Pricing, Underwriting, Retail, and more) and with business and IT partners.
  • High proficiency with visual analytics and BI tools (Tableau, QuickSight, MS Power BI, etc.).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Python knowledge and skill, preferred.

3 days hybrid in Bethlehem, PA, Hudson Yards NYC or Holmdel, NJ

Salary Range:

$68,970.00 - $113,310.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
