Job description

Business Development Specialist
Are you energized by connecting with people, building relationships, and making a meaningful impact in the community? We’re looking for a Business Development Specialist to grow membership and promote financial wellness through outreach events, financial literacy workshops, and partnerships with the Center for Financial Empowerment.
This is a field-based sales role, with the majority of time spent at community events and partner locations engaging prospective members, opening new accounts, and helping individuals access the financial solutions they need.

What You’ll Do
Community Engagement amp; Outreach
  • Represent the credit union at financial literacy workshops, outreach events, and partner engagements
  • Deliver presentations and promote membership benefits and financial solutions
  • Build relationships with community partners to expand outreach opportunities
  • Actively engage attendees to generate leads and new memberships
Lead Generation amp; Member Acquisition
  • Solicit and secure new memberships and financial product applications
  • Interview prospective members to understand needs and recommend solutions
  • Follow up on event leads to convert interest into active memberships and funded accounts
  • Maintain ownership of field-initiated relationships through activation
Collaboration amp; Sales Performance
  • Partner with Branch, Marketing, and Business Development teams to support onboarding and outreach efforts
  • Meet assigned goals for memberships, loan applications, and engagement metrics
  • Track outreach activity, leads, and results, reporting performance to leadership
What You Bring
Experience
  • 2+ years in sales, banking, customer service, marketing, or community engagement preferred
  • Experience presenting to groups or participating in outreach events is a plus
  • Proven ability to meet performance or sales goals
Education
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

In accordance with California’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected hourly pay range for this role at Rize Federal Credit Union is $32.00–$40.00.

Actual compensation is determined by experience, education, skills, internal equity, and other job-related factors.

As part of the hiring process, candidates who receive a contingent offer will undergo a background investigation, which may include employment verification, credit review, criminal records search, Social Security verification, and government registry checks. Candidates must also meet eligibility requirements to be bonded under a fidelity bond.
