Job description

An established, locally owned West Michigan commercial services company is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to lead new business growth.
We are looking for someone who know how to open doors, get in front of decision makers, build relationships, and turn those relationships into profitable, long term customer partnerships. This would also be someone who not only enjoys working independently as well as being an important part of a team.
This is not an account management position or an inside sales role. The primary responsibility of this position is creating new business.
Why this opportunity is different - you will become the primary business development professional within an established company, not just another salesperson on a large sales team.
You will have significant independence in organizing your day and developing your territory. We expect you to spend considerable time in the field meeting prospective customers and building your pipeline.
This is also a highly collaborative role. You will work regularly with leadership and operations on facility walkthroughs, estimating, proposals, customer solutions, and the successful start up of new accounts.
  • Proactively identify and develop new B2B sales opportunities
  • Build and maintain an active pipeline of qualified prospects
  • Cold call and conduct other outbound prospecting activities
  • Conduct discovery meetings and facility walkthroughs
  • Understand prospective customers' challenges and develop solutions
  • Coordinate estimating and proposal development with the Operations Team
  • Present proposals and consistently follow up on opportunities
  • Develop systematic prospecting and nurture campaigns using Salesforce
  • Maintain accurate and organized CRM records
  • Develop referral and networking relationships throughout the business community
  • Represent the company at appropriate networking and business-development events
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team during the transition and start up of new accounts
  • Identify opportunities to expand services with existing customer relationships

Previous sales experience in Commercial or Facility services is not required. Relationship building is at the base of this position.
First Year Earning Opportunity
  • $80,000 annual base salary
  • Uncapped commission opportunity as well as increasing commission rates as new recurring revenue grows
  • $500 monthly vehicle allowance with company paid fuel
  • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance
  • Three weeks of PTO
  • Company laptop and cell phone
