Job Description

This role is based in our NYC office, with consideration for either Santa Monica, CA or Dallas, TX offices. 

Are you the Business Development Manager our Solar Media team is looking for?  You will join a successful conference team to sell bespoke sponsorship packages and strengthen our Energy Storage, Solar & Renewable Energy Revenues events portfolio. This is a "hunter" role, responsible for developing new business in the USA. 

We work across a diverse portfolio of events in the USA, Asia and Europe. Our key goal is to collaborate with our customers to help their businesses thrive and create a sustainable future on a global scale. 

Role Accountability and Duties:

  • Identifying and securing new customers with major account potential  
  • Developing relationships with decision-makers to create new opportunities and build accounts Close and repeat high-value business at conferences 
  • Maximizing revenue through sponsorship sales 
  • Achieving and exceeding KPIs and monthly sales targets 
  • Managing a sales pipeline document for reporting purposes 
  • Forecasting business accurately on a weekly and monthly basis 
  • Gathering product and company feedback from clients and prospects 
Qualifications

What you bring to the team:

  • A solid and proven background in (ideally conference & sponsorship) sales, minimum 3-5 years
  • Proven track record of hunting new accounts, winning new business, and successfully growing the accounts of existing clients 
  • Able to sell on concept and provide a consultative sales approach with an excellent telephone manner 
  • Integrity is key; our products are market-leading, and you should be too 
  • Smart, ambitious, committed and actively focused on self-improvement 
  • Enjoy being challenged and engaged in a KPI driven environment where a good percentage of your total earnings are performance-based 
  • A genuine interest in and desire to contribute to the world’s evolving energy future, in which, we believe renewables and clean energy have a vital and rapidly growing role 
  • Able to travel globally to events and pitch in person existing and new business opportunities
  • Identify new product or event ideas  to senior management

Desirable, but not essential

  • Language skills - Spanish
