About Self Care Counseling

Self Care Counseling is a growing outpatient mental health and addiction treatment organization serving communities throughout Ohio and Indiana. Our mission is to provide compassionate, high-quality behavioral healthcare while creating a supportive and welcoming experience for clients, families, referral partners, and staff.

We are seeking a motivated and relationship-focused Business Development Specialist to join our Operations Team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys networking, building professional relationships, engaging with the community, and contributing to the growth of a mission-driven organization.

Position Summary

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining referral relationships, increasing community awareness of Self Care Counseling's services, and supporting organizational growth initiatives. This position serves as a key ambassador for the organization throughout the community while also providing administrative and front desk support as needed.

The ideal candidate is outgoing, organized, professional, and passionate about helping connect individuals and families with quality mental health services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Business Development & Community Outreach

  • Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources, healthcare providers, schools, employers, community organizations, and other community partners.
  • Represent Self Care Counseling at networking events, community events, health fairs, and outreach opportunities.
  • Conduct outreach visits and relationship-building meetings with referral partners.
  • Assist with growing referral networks and increasing awareness of company services.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen community partnerships and improve access to care.
  • Support marketing and promotional initiatives.
  • Track outreach activities and referral development efforts.
  • Collaborate with leadership on business development and growth strategies.
  • Coordinate and assist with presentations, community education opportunities, and special events.

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Provide front desk coverage as needed.
  • Welcome and assist clients, visitors, and referral partners.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist with inquiries.
  • Support scheduling and administrative workflows.
  • Assist with onboarding and operational processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Support special projects and organizational initiatives.
  • Assist with maintaining a positive and professional office environment.

Qualifications

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, customer service, community outreach, business development, sales, marketing, or administrative support.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, and other technology platforms.
