Job description

Berry Law Contract Veterans Disability Attorneys

Berry Law is seeking experienced contract Veterans Disability Attorneys to support a high-impact file transition within our VA practice.

This role is focused on legal strategy execution and file transition support—enabling our internal legal team to operate more efficiently and continue delivering exceptional outcomes for Veterans. This is a flexible, contract-based opportunity with variable hours based on availability and firm needs.

This engagement is expected to last approximately 1–2 months, with the potential to extend based on project progress and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze Veterans disability claims files within the VA system
  • Assist in transitioning legacy client files into updated workflows and systems
  • Develop and document legal strategies aligned with firm standards
  • Identify evidentiary gaps and recommend next steps for claim development
  • Collaborate with internal legal team members on strategy alignment

Scope of Role

  • No direct client communication required
  • Work is focused exclusively on legal analysis, file review, and strategy development
  • Flexible workload—hours may vary based on project needs and attorney availability

Qualifications

  • Licensed attorney in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Ability to independently review files and formulate sound legal strategies
  • High attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience handling VA disability claims and appeals
  • Strong knowledge of VA regulations, procedures, and evidentiary requirements
  • Familiarity with case management systems and high-volume file transitions
  • Experience working in a remote, contract-based legal environment
