Job description


Nemours Children's Health is seeking an IS Business Application Manager to join or team. Preferred location is either Orlando, Florida, Jacksonville, Florida or Wilmington, Delaware. Will consider a remote candidate, however, periodic travel will be required to one of our onsite locations.
The Managerleads the ongoing operations of the Epic Scheduling team, including the support, build, and optimization of scheduling applications such as Cadence, Hello World, and Cheers, aligned with other related access applications, such as MyChart. This role requires deep technical expertise in Epic scheduling applications and their integrations to ensure systems are stable, scalable, and aligned with access and capacity goals. The Manager oversees a team of analysts responsible for system configuration, enhancements, and issue resolution, and partners across access, clinical, operational, and IT teams to translate complex business needs into reliable, technically sound workflows that support consistent, patient-centered scheduling across regions and specialties.
This role is accountable for team performance, system integrity, and continuous improvement, with direct responsibility for ensuring strong technical rigor across build, testing, implementation, and support. As a hands-on IS leader, the Manager provides technical oversight and guidance on system design, configuration standards, integrations, and release readiness. The Manager oversees associate development and performance management, contributes to prioritization and resource planning, and ensures adherence to system governance, change control, and organizational processes, while advancing technology solutions that drive efficient operations and measurable improvements in patient access.
Essential Functions
  • Maintains a strong understanding of organizational access goals, operational workflows, and clinical scheduling needs, applying deep technical knowledge of Epic scheduling applications (Cadence, Hello World, Cheers, MyChart) to ensure systems are built and optimized to support capacity, access, and patient experience.
  • Leads day-to-day operations of the Epic Scheduling team, balancing multiple priorities across support, enhancements, and strategic initiatives while ensuring responsive, high-quality service to operational and clinical partners.
  • Leads, develops, and manages a team of analysts supporting Epic scheduling applications across the enterprise. Ensures appropriate staffing, onboarding, ongoing training, and certification; provides coaching and performance management; and fosters a culture aligned with Nemours Standards of Behavior.
  • Translates strategic access and operational priorities into system capabilities, ensuring Epic scheduling builds and enhancements consistently align with enterprise goals and drive measurable improvements in access, utilization, and workflow efficiency.
  • Serves as a technical subject matter expert in Epic scheduling applications and a key partner to access, clinical, and operational teams, ensuring system design, configuration, and integrations support safe, reliable, and high-quality care delivery workflows.
  • Manages team capacity and resource allocation across a high volume of operational and strategic work, including intake, prioritization, and escalation of requests. Identifies gaps and partners with leadership on staffing and resourcing strategies to meet demand.
  • Coordinates and executes work across cross-functional teams, including access, operations, informatics, and IT, providing technical leadership on Epic scheduling design, configuration, and integrations to deliver enhancements and projects that improve workflows, standardization, and patient outcomes.
  • Ensures builds are aligned with scheduling system standards, governance, and best practices in partnership with access, clinical, operational, and IT leadership to ensure consistency across regions and specialties.
  • Drives continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance system performance, streamline workflows, and improve scheduling effectiveness, supporting organizational quality, access, and patient experience goals.
  • Leads problem-solving for complex system and workflow issues, leveraging deep technical expertise to conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions that improve system performance and reliability.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3-5 years of analyst level experience supporting healthcare systems, including user software support or business department applications support required.
  • Epic certification required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to work with multi-departmental teams and peers.
  • Strong software and application knowledge with base knowledge of relevant technologies and operating systems. Experience with the design, development and implementation of new technical architectures.
