Senior Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Developer
Brief Overview of Position:
Strategic Operational Solutions, Inc. (STOPSO) is seeking an experienced Senior Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Developer to design, develop, and support secure automation solutions for Federal Government customers. This role will also lead the development of STOPSO's RPA capability and help expand the offering across current and future customers. The ideal candidate combines hands-on development expertise with strong technical leadership, process-analysis, and customer-engagement skills. This position offers a remote or flexible hybrid work environment.
Position Duties and Tasks
  • RPA Development & Delivery
    • Assess business processes and identify high-value automation opportunities.
    • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain attended and unattended automations using enterprise RPA platforms.
    • Integrate automations with web and desktop applications, APIs, databases, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and other enterprise systems.
    • Develop solution designs, test plans, deployment guides, operational procedures, and other technical documentation.
    • Implement secure credential management, logging, exception handling, monitoring, and recovery procedures.
    • Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root-cause analyses, and continuously improve automation performance and reliability.
  • Capability Development & Growth
    • Lead the development and maturation of STOPSO's enterprise RPA capability, including tools, standards, governance, reusable components, and delivery practices.
    • Develop automation demonstrations, prototypes, reference solutions, and reusable assets that showcase STOPSO's RPA capabilities.
    • Partner with growth and delivery teams to identify opportunities to introduce or expand RPA services for current and future customers.
    • Support proposals, customer presentations, technical demonstrations, estimates, and solution-development activities.
    • Stay current with RPA, artificial intelligence, process-mining, and intelligent document-processing technologies.
  • Technical Leadership & Collaboration
    • Serve as a senior technical resource for RPA solution design, development, and platform decisions.
    • Mentor developers and conduct design and code reviews to ensure quality, security, and maintainability.
    • Collaborate with business analysts, process owners, program managers, cybersecurity teams, and Government stakeholders.
    • Communicate technical concepts, delivery risks, and solution benefits clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.

Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Five or more years of software development or business process automation experience, including at least three years of hands-on RPA development.
  • Demonstrated experience with UiPath, Microsoft Power Automate, Automation Anywhere, or a comparable enterprise RPA platform.
  • Experience designing, testing, deploying, and supporting production automation solutions.
  • Experience integrating automations with APIs, databases, web applications, desktop applications, and Microsoft 365.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages, such as C#, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, SQL, or Visual Basic.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, Agile practices, source control, testing, and release management.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and customer communication skills.
  • Ability to lead technical initiatives and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced delivery environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Desired Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Professional certification in UiPath, Microsoft Power Automate, Automation Anywhere, or a comparable automation platform.
  • Experience establishing or supporting an RPA Center of Excellence or enterprise automation capability.
  • Experience supporting Federal Government customers or working in regulated environments.
  • Experience with artificial intelligence, intelligent document processing, optical character recognition, process mining, or workflow automation.
  • Familiarity with Federal cybersecurity frameworks, cloud platforms, and DevSecOps practices.
