Position: Project Manager/Business Analyst (Contractor) 

Reports to: Head of Investment Technology and Data Management 

About the Opportunity: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our Technology team as a Hybrid Project Manager / Business Analyst.  This unique role combines the critical skills of project management with the analytical expertise of a business analyst. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, technology integration, business analysis, data management, and streamlining/automation of repetitive processes, particularly within the investment management industry. This role requires a proactive leader with excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management:

·       Lead and manage projects and parts of larger projects from initiation to completion, ensuring objectives are met within scope, time, and budget.

·       Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, risk management strategies, and resource allocation.

·       Coordinate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure seamless project execution.

·       Monitor project progress, proactively addressing any issues or roadblocks.

·       Uphold project management best practices and company standards, ensuring comprehensive documentation.

·       Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.

·       Oversee vendor integration projects, including data mapping, business use case definition, and business function mapping.

·       Manage the full lifecycle of vendor integration, from initial business requirements and vendor selection to implementation and business model integration.

Business Analysis:

·       Perform in-depth analysis of business processes, systems, and user needs to identify improvement opportunities.

·       Elicit, document, and manage business requirements through interviews, workshops, and data analysis.

·       Develop functional specifications, process diagrams, and use cases for communication with technical teams.

·       Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

·       Evaluate and recommend solutions that align with business goals and objectives.

·       Contribute to data governance practices to define and improve data lineage, processes, accuracy, and cataloging.

·       Utilize data analysis and automation tools such as Power BI, SQL, VBA and Excel to support business teams in creating data-driven solutions.

Education/Experience/Skills (REQUIRED)

Education: BA/BS required, MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

Work Experience:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field. An advanced degree or certification (e.g., MBA, PMP) is preferred.

·       5-7 years of experience in the investment management industry.

·       Proven track record in project management and business analysis, with successful project delivery.

·       Advanced understanding of investment systems and full-cycle vendor product management.

·       Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA).

·       Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex business processes into actionable requirements.

·       Prior experience in the fixed income asset class.

Advanced level knowledge of Power BI, SQL and Office 365 and working knowledge of VBA and other automation tools.
