Job description


The Logistics Analyst Apprentice shall provide on-demand timely professional support services to the Navy Shipbuilding Program Offices within Team Ships at the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in Washington, DC during the 1-year program starting Summer of 2026.


Responsibilities

  • The Apprentice will be exposed to Team Ships Life Cyle Logistics management and the DOD/Navy budget process, learn financial management competencies, and develop skill sets that will provide value to the program offices and contribute to the workforce.
  • Understand the role of Navy Acquisition in Defense and Logistics
  • Understand DoD procurement regulations, appropriations law and fiscal policy as they apply to multi-year acquisition programs
  • Be introduced to Integrated Product Support (IPS) and the relationship of logistics elements to each other, hardware product, acquisition and sustainment, and related functions such as standardization, configuration management, and systems suitability and supportability
  • Understand Navy Logistics systems and what each system is used for (e.g., CDMS, ERP, ICAPS)
  • Gain access and pull data from Navy Logistics systems (e.g., CDMS, ERP, ICAPS)
  • Understand Outfitting Funding Execution Strategy
  • Understand Logistics business planning requirements and Team Ships Logistics strategy
  • Interface with the government customers and other contractors

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or military experience with an honorable service discharge preferred
  • This is an entry level position.
  • Requires U.S. Citizenship
  • Must have an active DOD Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one
  • Some professional experience including internships preferred โ€ข MS Suite Skills โ€“ Specifically Power Point, Word, Access, and Excel
  • Proactive and excellent customer service
