Job description

Palm Medical Centers is seeking a Business Analyst / Manager for its Enterprise Data Team who will collaborate with key corporate and health plan business partners for the purpose of identifying and delivering robust analytics capabilities to drive improved business performance. The candidate must be local to the Miami, Florida area and commute to Coral Gables headquarters to support the leadership team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Produce weekly/monthly/ad hoc standardized reporting for leadership.
  • Cheerful disposition and availability to support leadership and maximize their time.
  • Working collaboratively with subject matter experts to distill nuances in the data to validate accuracy and best calculate/display such to facilitate the best decision making possible.
  • Identify and perform root-cause analysis of data irregularities and present findings and propose solutions.
  • Manage multiple, variable tasks and data review processes with limited supervision within targeted timelines and thrive in a demanding, quickly changing environment.
  • Interpret and analyze data from multiple sources including claims, provider, member, and encounters data. Identify and assess the business impact of trends.
  • Develop, execute and maintain scripts and reports developed using SQL, Microsoft Excel, Postgres or other analytics tools.
  • Apply expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how customers interact with analytic products.
  • Support multiple functions and levels of the organization and effectively, both verbally and visually, communicate findings and insights to non-technical business partners.
  • Independently engage with customers and business partners to gather requirements and validate results.
  • Communicate and present data-driven insights and recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders, soliciting and incorporating feedback when required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) required.
  • Advanced level in Excel.  Financial modeling experience preferred.
  • Proficient in SQL.
  • Data mining, scrubbing and transforming data into actionable information in a well displayed manner.
  • Strong grasp of business ethics to work in a collaborative environment following company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to learn quickly and to creatively solve new problems.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Exhibit a can do / proactive behavior with a high sense of urgency and virtuous actions
  • Be willing to receive guidance in learning new efforts and grow with the challenges presented
Education/Experience:
  • Experience working with databases, data verification, and data management required; Managed Care MA Healthcare experience is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited university; with a major lending itself well for quantitative and qualitative aspects described in this herein.   
Physical Demand:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Majority of work is performed in a corporate office setting, indoors.
  • Minimal/No travel requirement.

Salary:  Negotiable based on experience
