Job description

We are currently seeking reliable and dedicated Bus Drivers to support our students and school community. Bus Drivers are responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of students to and from their assigned locations.

Sign-On Bonus: $2,000 ($1,000 upon hire and $1,000 after one year of successful service).

Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a large passenger bus in accordance with all traffic laws and regulations
- Pick up and drop off passengers at designated stops on a set route
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the bus as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized bus interior
- Perform regular pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in proper working order
- Keep accurate records of passenger counts and fares collected
- Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols to ensure the well-being of passengers and fellow drivers
- Communicate effectively with passengers and provide excellent customer service at all times

Qualifications:

For our routes, drivers need to have all of the following in place (or be able to provide proof they’re in process and nearly completed):

  • Valid CDL (Class B or higher)
  • Passenger (P) endorsement
  • School Bus (S) endorsement
  • Air brake qualified (if not restricted)
  • Current DOT medical card
  • Clean MVR that meets district and insurance requirements

- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to schedules
- Ability to work independently and solve problems on the road
- Prior experience as a bus driver or in a similar transportation role is preferred
