Role: Conference and Facility Support
Job Title: Facility Specialist
Classification: Full-time, Non-exempt
Reports to: Director, Facilities & Plant Management

Position Description:
The Facility and Plant Management department is looking for an individual to join our Maintenance team. In this role you will coordinate and provide equipment and facility set-up for meetings, conferences, and special events; provide customer service to building patrons; monitor facility usage and ensure conformance with policies and procedures; perform facility maintenance and cleaning; and perform related work. Primary responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate timely and accurate meeting set-ups and breakdowns in conference rooms center and all other meeting areas with little direction.
  • Works with staff requesting meeting space to ensure appropriate equipment and layout.
  • Recommend alternatives and necessary changes to ensure proper use of space and equipment to conduct a successful meeting request.
  • Coordinate audio visual requests for meetings and conferences held in conference room center.
  • Coordinate with IT department for proper use of computer equipment.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and replacement of equipment and supplies related to Audio Visual equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs as needed to all Audio-Visual equipment.
  • Maintains inventory of audio-visual equipment and meeting room supplies.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance program for all DePelchin's equipment including Audio Visual system.
  • Assist with deliveries and pickups both on and off the property and provides support to mail room and bulk mail outs.
  • Assists with daily work orders and daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of building equipment, grounds, and vehicles.
  • Carry a cell phone to respond to various calls regarding maintenance and conference room issues.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work area to ensure the safety of self and others.
  • Provides support with all special projects as directed.
  • Custodial duties include janitorial tasks as required.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year experience in basic building maintenance.
  • One year experience with audio video equipment and maintenance.
  • Must have valid Texas driver license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Facility Safety and Maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of area vendors and their products and/or services.
  • Adept at staying organized while executing multiple projects.
  • Ability to interact with professionals and staff from a variety of disciplines with a service orientation.
  • Basic Microsoft Outlook and Word skills.
Work Conditions:
  • Environment: Indoor and Outdoor
  • Range of Schedule: Mon - Fri, 5:00 am to 8:00 pm
  • Travel: Local (Drives DePelchin vehicles for DePelchin business) Must have valid Texas Driver License.
