Position Responsibilities:
  • Picks up and distributes mail to approximately 75 mail stops within 1 1/2 hours once a day.
  • Organizes mail cart according to mail route.
  • Picks up and distribute in-house mail to Medical Staff Office Pavilion once per day.
  • Assists with sorting of mail from post office as well as mail picked up from department as needed.
  • Obtains correct signatures for post office on all accountable.
  • Screens pick-up mail for appropriate addressing stamps on personal mail, cost center, etc. at department mail stop.
  • Makes special runs for heavy/bulky mail or bulk mail trays upon request.
  • Assists departments in preparing mail in accordance with proper postal regulations.
  • Defines mailroom procedures for maximum compatibility to departmental needs as defined by Supervisor.
  • Communicates with mailroom to answer any questions for departments as needed.
  • Reports all inappropriate or questionable use of mail facilities to Director immediately.
  • Prepares postage reports according to cost center number with 5% or fewer errors.
  • Operates posting machine and scale, writes certified and registered mail.
  • Assists loading/unloading of mail and bulk mail from delivery van when requested by Lead Mailroom Clerk.
  • Assists window patrons with correct information and direction in a clear and efficient manner when asked.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
  • Mailroom experience
