JOB SUMMARY:
The Postal Business Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of DHL eCommerce's postage payment systems and USPS postal expenses by validating charges, identifying billing discrepancies, supporting cost recovery initiatives through data analysis and reporting. This role will develop tools/reports and dashboards to track and recover postage over payments. This role offers growth opportunity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Analyze USPS postage charges and payment transactions to ensure billing accuracy and compliance with contractual and operational requirements.
  • Identify, investigate, and quantify postage overpayments, billing discrepancies, and revenue leakage opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and scorecards to monitor postage expenses, payment trends, and recovery efforts.
  • Mine and analyze large datasets using Databricks, SQL, and business intelligence tools to uncover trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
  • Identify USPS charges and transaction patterns related to shipping fraud, misuse, or other irregular activities.Partner with Finance, Operations, Postal Affairs, and Technology teams to support business initiatives and resolve data-related issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis on postal billing variances and recommend corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Support ad-hoc analysis and special projects related to postal operations, transportation, pricing, and cost management.
  • Document analytical methodologies, reporting processes, business requirements, and data governance standards.
  • Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for automation, process optimization, and enhanced business intelligence capabilities.
  • Stay current on industry trends, USPS regulations, postal pricing changes, and emerging analytical technologies.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, financial analysis, or business analytics.
  • Experience designing reports and dashboards using SQL, Power BI, Microsoft SQL Server, and Databricks.
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets and relational databases.
  • General understanding of financial reporting,
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, or postal operations is preferred

  • Ability to work with large datasets from multiple sources and transform them into meaningful, actionable insights.
  • Experience identifying trends, anomalies, and root causes through data analysis
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Strong appetite for data and digital innovation.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong organizational ability to prioritize and meet deadlines for multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to work individually or within a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Disciplined to work remotely, demonstrating the ability to maintain productivity and effectiveness in a virtual work environment.
