Job description

The Building Services Assistant Foreman is fully trained in all aspects of general cleaning and is able to perform carpet shampooing, hard floor maintenance, recycling removal, lavatory cleaning, office cleaning, and all other routine cleaning procedures. The position holder should also be skilled in training new employees, inspecting buildings for cleanliness, and must be computer literate.

Required Qualifications

Work Location

  • This is an onsite position
  • Performs general cleaning. 
  • Lead a team of Building Services employees,
  • Provides relief help when needed, leads project work, and provides quality control levels for their responsible area. 
  • The Assistant Foreman is familiar with the zone's employees, the areas of responsibility, and the equipment and cleaning tasks necessary to complete and maintain the responsibilities of the group. 
  • Training and working alongside new/seasoned employees to demonstrate how to properly clean and maintain all cleanliness standards as well as to instruct them on the proper use and care of equipment
  • Responsible for the knowledge of care and maintenance of all flooring surfaces in their area including marble flooring, terrazzo, vinyl, VCT, ceramic, concrete, carpet, wood, and cork surfaces. 
  • Responsible for the restoration, maintenance, and repair of floors in their area and is able to train team members on these procedures
  • Provides coverage in the absence of the Foreman and is knowledgeable of all zone responsibilities and issues
  • Completes daily reports, work orders, time books, and supply ordering, receiving, and distribution
  • Provides customer service to campus personnel
