Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, operating out of 26 branches throughout the United States. Our primary business is non-structural architectural grade building products sold principally to customers who create and produce end-products for the commercial, industrial, retail, residential and institutional markets. (In New Century, KS, Lebanon, TN, and Rockford, IL โ€“ we do business as: Olathe Millwork, Warren Brothers, River City Millwork respectfully.)

We are growing and looking for a driven, results oriented Outside Sales Representative with building materials experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for expanding our customer base and driving sales growth, with a primary focus on the Richmond market and surrounding eastern Virginia territories. You will represent our full product line, build strong and lasting customer relationships, and identify new business opportunities within your assigned territory.

Your Day-to-Day: to excel in this role, you will need to...

  • Sell our products to current customers in the region through a focus on customer service. In charge of sales throughout the territory, you will be rewarded based on your ability to manage sales throughout the region and customer base.
  • Grow sales by increasing our customer base to new customers - as an Outside Sales Representative you will be expected to call on potential new customers throughout the territory.
  • Communicate the needs of the customer with the branch to better ensure optimized product mix and increase future sales.
  • Communicate with inside sales staff to ensure a coordinated and synchronized sales effort. Our Outside Sales Representatives lead the conversation and develop our business through sales growth and customer service.
  • Accompany vendorsโ€™ sales representatives as needed, calling on appropriate customer accounts to satisfy vendor concerns.

  • You have excellent customer service skills, with knowledge of DMSi Agility software a plus.
  • As you will be driving a company vehicle, we consider this a Safety Sensitive position, subject to routine drug screening.
