EXP'sย Calgaryย office is currently seeking aย Senior Project Manager, Building Scienceย to join their team and work with our Building Science Manager. ย If you have experience in the building envelope, curtain wall, or fenestration industries, you are looking to be part of a progressive and diverse group of professionals with a passion for building science and restoration, you have demonstrated strong career progression and you are ready to take the next step. ย We would like to meet with you.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Under the direction of the Building Science Manager, you will:
  • Lead project teams delivering consulting engineering services to clients
  • Undertake building investigations and field reviewsย for design,ย repair, and restoration
  • Monitor and manage project tasks budgets and schedules
  • Prepare proposals and pursue new work
  • Prepare building investigation reports and construction documents
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to clients and direct project teams
  • Mentor, coach, and develop employees through daily project work
  • Manage the contract administration and quality of restoration projects through the construction stage, including contractor performance to ensure project deliverables and standards are met
  • Communicate effectively with clients by keeping them informed of site issues impacting project quality and resolving issues quickly

What your experience looks like

  • Degree in Civil Engineering / Architecture or a related field
  • 8-10+ years' experience in the Building Science industry with:
    • New construction and building envelope restoration
    • Parking structure condition surveys would be an asset
    • Working as a prime consultant on projects
  • Registered with APEGA or AAA
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • A motivated, self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills as well as attention to detail
  • Must be able to meet project deadlines
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) applications
  • Organized, works well under pressure,ย able to deal with situations with tact
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required
  • LEED Accreditation, PMP would be an asset
  • Experience with suspended access equipment (work from heights) an asset
  • Knowledge in current energy requirements in building codes and energy modelling
  • Some regional travel may be required
