What this job involves:

JLL seeks a Building Technician to support the Facilities Operations Team at our client's campus located near Calgary International Airport. The Facilities Operations Team ensures buildings are safe and comfortable 24/7 for employees and guests. You'll gain experience with specialized systems unique to airport facilities, including aviation-specific safety protocols, environmental controls for sensitive operations, and critical infrastructure that supports round-the-clock airline operations.

This role will work four (4) days per week (10-hourshifts) from Saturday through Tuesday. Shifts will be from 10:00a.m. to8:00p.m.most days. The technician must also be available to provide additional coverage as needed and participate in the on-call rotation.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Safety & Hazard Management- Comply with safety procedures, properly handle hazardous materials, participate in training programs, and maintain accurate work documentation

General Maintenance & Tenant Services- Execute interior maintenance tasks including hanging pictures, installing equipment, and repairing office furniture systems

Building Maintenance- Maintain and repair all plumbing components including toilets, sinks, water systems, piping, and mechanical equipment. Prepare, prime, and paint interior/exterior surfaces while assisting with general building and equipment repairs

Facility Inspections & Emergency Response- Conduct facility inspections, assess building conditions, respond to emergencies, and coordinate with trade vendors as needed

Cleaning & Vendor Oversight- Oversee cleaning vendor performance in common areas including window cleaning, floor maintenance, and washroom servicing

Building Access & Security- Maintain and repair locks, door systems, access controllers, and building entry mechanisms

Compliance & Documentation- Complete required documentation for fire systems, building alarms, and maintain compliance with all Provincial, County, and City codes and ordinances

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in building or facility maintenance and operations experience

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Transport Canada security clearance

  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems, building automation, system controls, and fire alarm systems

  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for travel between client facilities

  • Ability to work weekends and maintain 24/7 on-call availability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate ( or must obtain within 6 months of hiring if not already certified)

  • Post-secondary education in automation, mechanical, or electrical fields

  • Knowledge of airline business operations and airport protocols
