Overview:
The AM Restaurant Server/Buffet Host will interact with guests and ensure they have a great dining experience with Holiday Inn KCI in our casual dining establishment, Burger Theory!
Schedule (may vary):
  • Part-time
  • AM Shift, 5am-11am
  • Both weekday & weekend availability is a plus!
  • Holidays as needed
Pay: $12.00/hour, plus tips
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Set up the Breakfast Buffet with food, beverages, and other supplies/utensils before breakfast hours begin; disassemble the Buffet after breakfast hours have ended.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the Breakfast Buffet and surrounding areas before, during, and after breakfast hours.
  • Maintain food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
  • Ensure that the buffet remains well stocked during breakfast hours.
  • Monitor and replenish Breakfast Buffet items as needed.
  • Ensure customers receive a great dining experience by acknowledging, greeting, and thanking all guests; take initiative in resolving guest challenges, and involve a supervisor when needed.
  • Maintain proper dining experience by delivering items, fulfilling customer requests, offering drinks, removing dishes, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses.
  • Obtain revenues, issue receipts to customers, accept payments, and return change as needed; accurately process all cash and credit card transactions using established procedures.
  • Perform all pre-shift and/or post-shift cleaning/preparation tasks, such as cleaning tables, laying out napkins and utensils, refilling condiments, sweeping floors, etc.
  • Assist with the completion of basic cleaning tasks as needed.
  • Assist with special events as needed.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards as well as IHG Service Standards.
  • Communicate other products and services available at the hotel upon guest inquiry.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Previous serving experience is preferred.
  • Cash handling experience is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills are required.  
  • Must speak English fluently and be able to write in Basic English.
  • Food Handlers Card is a bonus.
  • ServerSafe Card is a bonus.
  • Must have a high level of stamina to work on feet for extended periods.
  • Must be able to frequently lift/carry objects up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift/carry objects up to 50 lbs.
