Job Summary

We are seeking a Data Center Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, networking equipment, and data center infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with hardware installation, structured cabling, rack and stack activities, break/fix support, and data center operations.

Responsibilities
  • Install, rack, stack, and cable servers, storage, and network equipment.
  • Perform hardware upgrades, replacements, and break/fix activities.
  • Troubleshoot server, storage, and network hardware issues.
  • Install and manage copper and fiber optic cabling.
  • Label, document, and maintain cable management standards.
  • Monitor data center environmental conditions and infrastructure.
  • Replace failed components including drives, memory, power supplies, and network cards.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and asset inventory management.
  • Support operating system installations and basic configuration.
  • Work with remote engineering teams during deployments and troubleshooting.
  • Follow change management and incident management procedures.
  • Maintain documentation for hardware inventory and network connectivity.
  • Support power cycling and remote hands requests.
  • Adhere to safety and security procedures within the data center.
Required Skills
  • Experience with rack & stack of servers and network devices.
  • Hardware troubleshooting and break/fix experience.
  • Knowledge of Dell, HPE, Cisco, Lenovo, or Supermicro hardware.
  • Experience with structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A/Fiber).
  • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, switches, routers).
  • Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux.
  • Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Jira.
  • Ability to lift equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in a data center environment.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
