Familiarity with bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks or Xero, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, are commonly expected technical skills. What types of tasks and responsibilities can I expect during a Bookkeeping Internship?

During a Bookkeeping Internship, you can expect to assist with recording financial transactions, updating ledgers, reconciling accounts, and preparing basic financial reports. Interns often work closely with full-time bookkeepers or accountants to learn industry-standard software and gain hands-on experience with invoicing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. You may also help with data entry, filing, and organizing financial documents, providing an excellent foundation for understanding accounting operations in a real-world business environment.
