Position Summary

The Junior Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of TWG under the direct supervision of our Staff Accountant. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You'll gain hands-on experience across billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial reporting. You will regularly interact with customers and vendors, making professionalism and clear communication essential to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly billing cycle activities including invoice preparation and distribution across TWG's customer base
  • Support accounts receivable functions - tracking payments and following up on past-due accounts
  • Communicate professionally with customers and vendors regarding billing inquiries, account activity, and payment status
  • Perform account reconciliations and assist with month-end close processes
  • Maintain accurate customer account records and assist with the customer ID and billing database
  • Assist with multi-state sales tax compliance activities in coordination with our staff accountant
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and supporting schedules as directed
  • Help document and improve accounting procedures and workflows
  • Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or actively pursuing a degree)
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles (debits/credits, AR/AP, reconciliations)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Professional communication skills - both written and verbal - with a customer-service mindset
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities

Preferred:

  • Experience with QuickBooks Online
  • Familiarity with multi-state business operations or sales tax compliance
  • 1+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance internship experience
  • Prior experience in a customer- or vendor-facing role
