Position Summary

The Butcher Block Supervisor oversees the service-oriented butcher block area within the meat department, ensuring high-quality product cutting, custom service execution, and an elevated customer experience. This role leads team members in delivering expert product knowledge, specialty cuts, and strong merchandising while maintaining food safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities Department Operations & Execution
  • Supervise daily operations of the butcher block, including cutting, trimming, grinding, and custom order fulfillment
  • Ensure all meat products meet company standards for quality, freshness, and presentation
  • Execute proper rotation (FIFO), labeling, and storage of all products
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked butcher service case
  • Support production planning to meet customer demand and minimize shrink
Leadership & Team Support
  • Supervise, train, and coach meat cutters, clerks, and wrappers assigned to the butcher block
  • Provide hands-on leadership during shifts to maintain productivity and service standards
  • Support scheduling and labor alignment based on service demand
  • Reinforce safety practices and promote a strong team environment
Customer Service & Expertise
  • Deliver a high-touch, service-focused customer experience at the butcher block
  • Provide expert recommendations on cuts of meat, preparation methods, and cooking techniques
