Job description

Premier full service, privately owned printing company in UT is hiring for a day shift Bindery Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Direct all aspects of the bindery department including quality, maintenance, scheduling, waste control, training, and safety.
  • Manage the set up and performance of all bindery operations.
  • Direct job assignments and plan daily labor schedules.
  • Manage team of 12 - 15 bindery operators to achieve the established daily/weekly objectives.
  • Make sure all necessary supplies are on hand, maintain inventory levels and reorder
  • as needed.
  • Mentor and train employees to peak performance by developing their skill level and ability to produce quality work and increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Assist employees with troubleshooting and solving production/quality issues.
  • Administer and complete employee performance evaluations.
  • Maintain a work area that is safe and orderly.
  • Work with senior level management on any new projects or equipment recommendations.

Qualifications include;

  • Minimum 5 years' management experience in commercial binding operations.
  • 8 - 10 years' experience in commercial binding operations.
  • Strong employee mentoring, training, and development experience.
  • Team building and positive reinforcement skills.
  • Prior experience operating binding equipment such as: stitchers, folders, perfect binders, cutters, collators, trimmers, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills with hourly employees, clients, peer and senior level management.
  • Able to multi-task jobs in a fast paced environment meeting client expectations.
  • PC proficient.
