Job description

Dinsmore is seeking a Client Billing Representative who will be responsible for the daily billing functions including time and cost transfers, write-downs, computer bills, special bills, void/rebills and attorney inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates all aspects of billing for assigned attorneys and clients in accordance with Firm policies and procedures
  • Coordinates all aspects of electronic billing through client electronic billing sites and E-billing Hub as required by clients
  • Reviews, edits and processes pre-bills
  • Reviews pre-bills to ensure accurate application of retainers, on account expenses, on account fees, unapplied and trust funds
  • Perform various reconciliation and monitoring adjustments to ensure final invoice to client is accurate.  Includes write offs, rate overrides, etc.
  • Communicates with billing attorneys and/or legal administrative assistants regarding billing matters
  • Prepares final invoices for transmittal to clients
  • Print computer bills and provides legal administrative assistants with PDF copy
  • Maintain and disseminate information on special client time reporting and billing requirements as needed
  • Manage high volume of emails and calls pertaining to legal billing
  • Provide first level of billing system technical support to Firm attorneys and support staff
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of billing changes for audit trail; scans related documents into CMS as needed
  • Prepare ad hoc billing reports upon request from billing attorney
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of legal billing experience
  • High school diploma is required
