Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist / Clerk to join our HR & Payroll team. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate payroll records, processing time and attendance, and ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time.

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $22.00 / hr

Employment Type: Full-Time


Key Responsibilities


  • Payroll Data Entry: Collect, calculate, and enter weekly/bi-weekly payroll data accurately.
  • Time & Attendance: Execute timekeeping processing in Paylocity and verify hours and piece-rate calculations.
  • Record Maintenance: Process payroll updates, including tax exemptions, insurance coverage changes, savings deductions, and job transfers.
  • Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling payroll data prior to final transmission.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Research and resolve payroll discrepancies or employee inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
  • Compliance & Year-End: Assist with year-end reporting (W-2s) and ensure adherence to company policies and labor regulations.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all employee and payroll information.


Qualifications & Requirements


  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bilingual: Bilingual in Spanish is required (spoken and written).
  • System Experience: Prior experience using Paylocity (or similar HRIS/Payroll software like QuickBooks or Navision) is a plus.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (data entry, basic formulas).
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, basic understanding of pay rates/piece counts, and great communication skills.
