Job description

JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBSMA) is responsible for executing core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and vendor management, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of financial records.

BBBSMA is seeking a strategic, mission-driven leader to join its headquarters team in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a full-time, exempt position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

• Manage vendor relationships and support vendor management processes

• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations

• Prepare and post journal entries

• Maintain general ledger accuracy

• Support monthly and year-end close

• Track and reconcile deferred assets and expenses

• Assist with audit preparation and documentation

• Support cash activity tracking

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• 2–5 years of accounting experience

• Experience with Sage Intacct preferred

• Experience with SAP Concur (or similar systems) preferred

• Strong Excel and systems skills

• High attention to detail

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Routine office environment. This position is located in our Atlanta office, with a flexible, hybrid work schedule.

• Standard BBBSMA office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 – 5:30 pm.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• This position is a primarily sedentary position and frequently requires the use of standard office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, fax, and printer).

• May occasionally require bending, reaching, and lifting up to 10 lbs.

• Base salary is Compensation: BBBSMA offers a competitive and comprehensive compensation package, commensurate with experience.
