SQL Developer Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to gather, document, and analyze business requirements. Understand both current and future-state business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Extract, manipulate, and interpret data from multiple sources using advanced SQL querying. Use data-driven approaches to identify trends, patterns, and business opportunities.
  • Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and business intelligence solutions using Power BI. Translate complex data sets into clear and actionable insights for business users at all levels.
  • Validate data integrity, ensure consistency of reports and dashboards, and troubleshoot issues related to data accuracy, system integration, and business logic.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for business requirements, technical specifications, data models, analytical methodologies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adjusting priorities based on evolving business needs.
  • Develop custom programming solutions to address specific business needs, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance data workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, performance bottlenecks, and system errors.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in SQL, BI, and programming languages.
  • Provide technical support and end user training, enabling users to utilize BI tools and SQL effectively.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects including system migrations, process automation and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Design, develop, and maintain API integrations to facilitate seamless data exchange between internal systems and external platforms.
  • Monitor API performance and troubleshoot integration issues, ensuring timely resolution and robust connectivity.
  • Document API specifications, usage guidelines, and best practices for both internal teams and external partners.
  • Administer, monitor, and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.
  • Manage database access and user permissions in accordance with compliance and security policies.
  • Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database structures to improve application speed and resource efficiency.
  • Proactively identify and resolve database issues, ensuring minimal disruption to system availability and user productivity.
  • Support and maintain SSIS packages for data transformation and integration across systems.
  • Perform light SQL Server administration tasks, including database backups, user permissions, and performance monitoring.

Business Intelligence Analysis Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
  • A typical day for a BI analyst includes collecting data, analyzing it and sharing it with the right audience. These components can break down into more detailed tasks, all of which allow you to positively impact a company's overall performance. The process on any given data collection project may flow like this:
  • Collect business intelligence data from sources which may include industry reports, public information, field reports or purchased findings. This may mean updating your knowledge about relevant technology trends or emerging markets in your industry, in addition to gathering data related to the customers and the market.
  • Analyze the data to identify any trends that could impact your business' strategies.
  • Utilize the results of the analysis to support recommendations for action to improve or even grow the company.
  • Prepare analytical reports to summarize findings and share with the appropriate company stakeholders through established communication processes.
  • Throughout this process, you'll need to work with a variety of people, both internally and externally, to stay aware of trends in your own business and the industry at large. You'll also need to manage the flow of information, so data is analyzed, summarized and routed to the proper stakeholders in a timely manner.

Qualifications
  • 2-3 years' experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, DBA or similar role
  • Proven proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and API integrations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate, and reliable outputs
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 4 year degree
  • 3-5 years experience

A Successful SQL Developer and BI Analyst must consistently demonstrate the company's Mission and Values. They must have good oral and written communication skills in order to effectively interact with customers, drivers and other team members in person and on the telephone. They must be customer service-oriented as well as team-oriented and must have good organizational skills. A successful SQL Developer and BI Analyst must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Finally, they must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
