Position Summary
The Shift Supervisor is to supervise assigned residential staff, assist staff complete necessary paperwork, and facilitate good communication and leadership skills for use in client to staff interactions. Position will maintain guidelines for clients and staff, ensure that all apartment rounds are done, and that clients are adequately supervised at all time. Position will ensure clients attend all necessary groups, activities, and appointments. Position will coordinate client transportation, apartment maintenance, food shopping, and general client daily needs. Position will maintain optimum communication with Residential Supervisor and remain available for residential on call rotations.
Maintain Client safety at all times; monitor and record Client behavior during the course of the assigned shift; transport and/or direct Clients to appointments; provide a structured living experience while Clients are in the residence; adhere to and reinforce policies and procedures related to Client care; take direction from the Residential Shift Supervisor(s) and Director of Clinical Services.
Relationships and Contacts
Within the organization: Maintains frequent and close working relationships with program staff and facility team members throughout the organization.
Outside the organization: Initiates and maintains strong professional relationships with clients and families, clinical providers, referral partners and vendors, as needed.
Essential Responsibilities
  1. Demonstrates proper time management, supervisory, and communication skills with staff and clients.
  2. Addresses and understands clients with mental health and/or substance abuse difficulties.
  3. Supports the clinical staff in administering the level system for the clients.
  4. Supervises residential staff in implementing program rules in a manner that is respectful of the client and their individual needs.
  5. Manages staff schedules, daily operations, and client safety protocols.
  6. Develops a professional rapport with clients through interactions that are firm, fair, and consistent.
  7. De-escalates clients and remains solution-focused during crises.
  8. Ensures that all paperwork and client reporting is appropriately completed by residential staff, including incident reports and shift reports.
  9. Facilitates client groups as needed, including House Group, Morning Reflection, New Patient Orientation.
  10. Assists with client admissions and discharges, as needed.
  11. Maintains appropriate contact with Residential Supervisor and Clinical staff concerning client behaviors.

Additional Responsibilities
  1. Takes accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks.
  2. Conveys information and ideas in a clear, meaningful, and timely manner.
  3. Completes assignments or tasks and maintains client safety in a busy environment.
  4. Effectively utilizes company computer programs.
  5. Performs other related duties, as required and assigned.

Education and Experience
Highschool diploma or equivalent required, drug and alcohol certification preferred or a willingness to complete requirements within the orientation period. Requires 2+ years' experience working with clients with substance abuse and/or mental health issues.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or willingness to complete within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Clearance of TB test.

Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to communicate with peers/general public, clients and/or vendors
  • Tolerant to various noise levels: noise level in the work environment varies - may be very quiet to moderate
  • Job performance will require the ability to move throughout the building as well as sit or remain stationary for extended periods of time
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to talk or hear, sit, stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste or smell.
  • Ability to move up to 25 pounds
