Description Minimum Qualifications

Education – High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.

Experience – A minimum of one (1) year related experience is recommended.

Licenses & Certification – Must possess a valid driver's license

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ability to learn and utilize the MCN Electronic Health Record system for scheduling, communication, reports and referrals.
  • Ability to courteously communicate effectively both orally and in writing with patients, MCN employees, Tribal, and the general public.
  • Knowledge and ability to utilize a personal computer application in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to type accurately, using correct grammar and the ability to proofread documents.
  • Ability to utilize secretarial references to produce proper, and accurate documents.
  • Ability to perform basic custodial duties in an office setting.
  • Ability to maintain a confident, professional demeanor, and professional appearance.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in regard to patient information.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills.
Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to provide support services at BHS Staff at the assigned clinic. Incumbent is under the direct supervision of the Operations and Budget Analyst.

Work Environment

Work is performed in an office located within a health care clinic.

Physical Demands

Performance of duties requires the demands of normal office work. Occasional high stress working conditions.

Essential Functions

Satisfactory job performance will be determined by successful execution of the following:

  1. Receive patient inquiries for general information regarding the BHS Program.
  2. Registers patients to establish medical chart and update chart information for established patients.
  3. Schedule patient appointments.
  4. Check patient's insurance availability daily.
  5. Complete screening form on all potential new patients
  6. Notify BHS case managers when a patient's needs are identified
  7. Verify all paperwork (intake and on-going) is completed and scanned into the chart.
  8. Maintain compliance with all Department of Health and BHS policy and procedures
  9. Perform receptionist duties within the assigned health care facility via telephone, email and in person.
  10. Occasionally assist in office coverage for evening groups.
  11. Maintain logs and help with compliance with regulatory, licensing, and Department of Health Policy and Procedures.
  12. Perform basic custodial duties necessary to maintain a neat, clean office environment.
  13. Must be consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent. Arrives at meeting and appointments on time.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.
