Position Summary

SURVICE Engineering is currently seeking a System Administrator to support our Gulf Coast Operation. You will accelerate your career and become an integral team member within the defense community.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities of System Administrator

  • Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining server software/hardware (Windows Server 2022/2025, Linux) and virtualized environments (VMware/Hyper-V).
  • Manage user accounts, security groups, and permissions within Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support to employees, resolving issues escalated from the help desk.
  • Monitor system health logs and security alerts, applying patches, and hardening systems in compliance with security protocols.
  • Utilize PowerShell or Bash scripting to automate routine manual tasks (user provisioning, report generation).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, system procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Assist in monitoring daily backups and performing data restores to ensure data integrity.

Minimum Qualifications of System Administrator
Bachelor's Degree in Technical Field of study and 1+ years of relevant experience. Candidates are not required to possess all qualifications; is you possess some of the desired qualifications, please apply.

Desired Experience

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2019/2022 management.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux administration.
  • Understanding of Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Firewalls).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration and exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS).
  • Certifications: IAT Level II or higher, IAM Level I or higher, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (a major plus).
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, excellent verbal/written communication, and a proactive "security-first" mindset
  • Experience with scripting (PowerShell) to automate manual tasks.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) or IaC tools (Ansible).
  • Experience with ITSM ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow).
