Psychology Research Subject Matter Expert
Location: Dayton, OH Area / Wright-Patterson AFB Area
Employment Type: Part-Time (0.5 FTE)
Venesco, LLC is seeking a highly qualified Psychology Research Subject Matter Expert to support human performance and behavioral science research initiatives in support of USAFSAM/FESP operations. The selected candidate will support study development, statistical analysis, research execution, technical reporting, and behavioral science consultation activities supporting Air Force human performance research objectives.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in development and execution of comprehensive research study protocols, including hypotheses, methodologies, data collection strategies, and statistical analysis plans.
  • Conduct scientific literature reviews and provide data analysis support for behavioral science and human performance research.
  • Advise professional staff on optimal statistical methodologies and analytical approaches.
  • Perform descriptive and inferential statistical analyses utilizing software such as SPSS, JMP, R, or related platforms.
  • Support development and maintenance of secure research databases and online data repositories consistent with IRB requirements and data protection safeguards.
  • Complete and maintain required IRB documentation and human subjects research training requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports, scientific publications, professional presentations, and research summaries supporting dissemination of research findings.
  • Coordinate research data acquisition, management, maintenance, storage, and reporting activities.
  • Facilitate and participate in research meetings and project coordination activities.
  • Support research operations, project administration, and data collection efforts in support of USAFSAM/FESP initiatives.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with classification and data protection requirements.
  • Provide support for additional research efforts as operational needs require.
  • Travel as needed for customer consultations, meetings, and professional conference presentations.

Requirements
Qualifications
  • Master's degree specializing in:
    • Research Psychology
    • Industrial Organizational Psychology
    • Or related Psychology discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with:
    • Database development
    • Data collection and organization
    • Statistical analysis
    • Research report writing
    • Development of actionable recommendations supporting human performance improvement
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and conducting statistical analyses using software such as:
    • SPSS
    • JMP
    • R
    • Or similar statistical platforms
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing products presenting research outcomes including:
    • Professional presentations
    • Peer-reviewed publications
    • Technical reports
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting administrative management activities related to:
    • Study design
    • Research methodologies
    • Dissemination of empirically based human performance research findings
  • Ability to maintain and comply with a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) due to access to sensitive and proprietary information.
Desired Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in Research Psychology, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or related Psychology discipline preferred.
    • Master's degree plus 7+ years of relevant experience may be considered.
  • Experience supporting human performance and behavioral science research within Department of Defense environments.
  • Experience developing and administering validated psychological instruments via mobile and web-based platforms.
  • Experience authoring peer-reviewed publications and/or official USAF or Department of Defense technical reports related to human performance and behavioral science research.
