You could be the perfect candidate to be a Direct Support Professional in our Day Services Program with Opportunity Services in Southeast MN! Make a difference in someone's life by supporting them in community services.
OS team members spend their days coaching groups of individuals at their workplace, implementing community-based recreational activities/outings, and providing supports to meet our consumers' physical, emotional, and interpersonal needs. Our culture at OS is defined by our teamwork of helping, listening to and supporting one throughout the organization. We are looking for new team members who want to Make a Difference and care about the people they serve and work with!
No Nights or Weekends!
Hours and Benefits of the DSP:
  • The starting pay rate for this position is $18.00-$21.00/hour. Education and experience are considered when extending offers.
  • Monday - Friday: Approx. 7:00 am to 3:30 pm - No Nights or Weekends required!

Responsibilities of the DSP:
  • Provide supervision to clients in recreational activities, meal times and other various activities in a day program setting and out in the community.
  • Provide quality assistance with all personal cares..
  • Provide and assist clients with medication.
  • Provide and assist with hooking up wheelchairs and using lift vehicles.
  • Community Integration/engagement: staff are responsible for the interaction of the work team with the work community and population at large.
  • The use of behavior modification principles: Assist in interaction through positive reinforcement, positive programming, engagement and the use of alternative communication strategies.
  • Complete administrative tasks in a timely manner.
  • Attend all required and requested staff meetings and training.
  • Assist in the transportation of client using OS vehicles and follow agency Transportation policies.

Requirements
Candidate Requirements:
  • Desire to work with adults with disabilities and/or behavioral needs
  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to obtain DOT certification
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, torque, grasp lightly, use fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, and reach above shoulders
