Job description

We are seeking a talented Product Development Consultant to join Farmacy for a parental leave coverage assignment (appx 6 months). In this highly collaborative role, you will play a key part in bringing innovative skincare products to life—from early concept development through launch execution.

Partnering closely with R&D, Marketing, Creative, Regulatory, and Operations teams, you will lead day-to-day project management, drive cross-functional alignment, and ensure development milestones are met to deliver best-in-class products to market. This is an exciting opportunity to influence Farmacy's innovation pipeline while helping shape products that resonate with consumers and support the brand's continued growth.

The ideal candidate is a passionate skincare enthusiast with a strong product development background, exceptional project management skills, and a deep understanding of the beauty landscape. You are equally comfortable evaluating formulas, navigating development timelines, and translating consumer and market insights into compelling product experiences.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, and enjoys building strong partnerships across teams to move projects forward. This role reports to the VP of Product Development & Regulatory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Drive creation of skincare products throughout all PD lifecycle (formula development, safety + claims validation, creative concept, creative design brief, and market analysis).
  2. Assist in research and execution of product innovation that aligns to customers’ DNA and delivers against market needs.
  3. Partner with R&D and cross-functional teams to define and write new product concepts, research and select both active and story ingredients, and coordinate regulatory and testing needs within the overall product timeline.
  4. Prepare R&D briefs to communicate all development needs including product texture, fragrance benchmark, usage, product ingredients/technologies, positioning, and claims.
  5. Evaluate formula submissions and provide feedback to R&D.
  6. Track and communicate all product and packaging submission and approvals.
  7. Coordinate, track and analyze all testing (safety, clinical, consumer panel, other) including test design and desired claims output.
  8. Collaborate with Regulatory to ensure compliance of product formulae and claims.
  9. Maintain and communicate weekly project status report.

Compensation range: $9,000 - $11,000 per month.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional Product Development/ relevant experience
  • Experience in Skincare is a must
  • Thrive in a start-up environment with an all-hands-on-deck positive attitude
  • Able to reliably commute to the Mahwah, NJ area to visit Contract Manufacturer site
  • Strategic mindset with ability to operationalize & execute
