Bdr Salesforce information

What is a BDR?

A BDR, or Business Development Representative, in Salesforce is a sales professional responsible for identifying and qualifying potential leads for the sales team. They typically use Salesforce's CRM tools to track interactions, manage prospects, and ensure a smooth handoff to account executives. BDRs play a crucial role in generating new business by reaching out to potential clients through calls, emails, and social media. Their main goal is to set up meetings or demos for the sales team, helping to drive revenue growth.

How does a BDR typically collaborate with the sales and marketing teams?

As a BDR (Business Development Representative) using Salesforce, you will work closely with both sales and marketing teams by tracking leads, updating contact information, and logging activity in Salesforce. Daily responsibilities often include qualifying inbound leads, conducting outreach, and scheduling meetings for account executives. Collaboration is key, as marketing provides campaign insights and warm leads, while sales relies on your detailed notes and pipeline updates to close deals effectively. This teamwork fosters a transparent workflow and helps ensure a seamless transition from prospecting to closing.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a BDR?

To thrive as a BDR using Salesforce, you need strong sales acumen, lead generation skills, and a foundational understanding of CRM processes, often supported by a bachelor's degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with Salesforce CRM, sales engagement platforms, and prospecting tools is typically required, and Salesforce certification can be a significant advantage. Outstanding communication, resilience, and organizational skills help BDRs build relationships and effectively manage a high volume of outreach. These competencies are critical for consistently meeting sales targets, nurturing leads, and contributing to the overall success of the sales pipeline.

Job description

Description:About the role

We're hiring a BDR Manager to lead and scale CourtReserve's outbound engine. You'll hire, coach, and drive a high-velocity BDR team that generates new-logo pipeline across the racquet-sports market. This is a build-and-scale role — you'll own the outbound prospecting motion end to end and the metrics that prove it's working.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of BDRs — own their ramp, performance, career growth, and day-to-day execution.
  • Stand up and scale the outbound motion: cadences, sequences, targeting, playbooks, and messaging — and iterate on them continuously.
  • Own the team's pipeline-generation and activity targets; forecast and report weekly, monthly, and quarterly results to the VP of Sales.
  • Hire, onboard, and ramp new BDRs; run performance management (coaching plans, PIPs, promotions).
  • Build and refine call scripts, email sequences, and LinkedIn outreach, plus competitive positioning
  • Manage the outbound tech stack: call coaching and QA in Gong, pipeline and activity hygiene in Salesforce, data and account/contact sourcing in Apollo, and high-velocity dialing in Nooks.
  • Partner with Marketing on lead flow and AI/agentic outbound, and with Account Executives on lead handoff and meeting quality.
  • Run the team's operating rhythm — standups, 1:1s, pipeline reviews, contests/SPIFFs — and build a culture of collaboration and winning.
Metrics you'll own (high-velocity BDR team)
  • Activity: ~100 dials, ~250 emails, and ~25 LinkedIn touches per BDR per week; ~25 target accounts worked per day with 2–3 verified contacts each.
  • Output: qualified meetings booked and held per rep per month; opportunities and new-logo ARR sourced by the team.
  • Conversion: lead to meeting, meeting-held rate, meeting to opportunity, and opportunity to closed-won
  • Team health: ramp-to-productivity time, pipeline-target and quota attainment, and account/contact coverage of the ICP universe.

Requirements:Must-have experience
  • Proven experience leading/managing a BDR or SDR team.
  • Experience standing up an outbound motion from the ground up.
  • Track record managing a team to high-velocity activity and pipeline metrics in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong coaching and enablement skills — you make reps measurably better every week.
  • Data-driven approach to targeting, messaging, and performance management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • EST time zone preference.
Recommended experience
  • Hands-on experience with Gong, Salesforce, Apollo, and Nooks.
  • Familiarity with AI/agentic outbound tooling.
  • SaaS background, ideally vertical SaaS or SMB/mid-market.
The skills and abilities you'll need to succeed
  • Leadership presence with drive, grit, and a competitive mindset — and the ability to instill it in a team.
  • Ability to hire, motivate, and retain high-performing reps.
  • Comfort with continuous iteration — taking feedback from calls, AEs, and data, and refining the motion daily.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to run a high-volume team.
  • Customer-focused, positive, and resilient in the face of rejection.
  • Intellectual curiosity and eagerness to master the industry, CourtReserve's solutions, and the competitive landscape.
