Job description

Launch your professional journey with an award-winning team. We're seeking a Accounting and Financial Reporting Senior Associate in Alexandria, VA. Duties include but are not limited to: • Supporting the DoW audit response, audit remediation, internal controls, financial processes, and/or accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS), and/or relevant Department of the Treasury and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) policies.

• Managing the day-to-day research, analysis, and communication at the direction of the Kearney & Company Team Lead and client. • Utilizing data analysis technology to analyze information. • Analyze information and provide financial reporting and related remediation solutions.

• Support the review of draft and new Notifications of Findings and Recommendations (NFR), to include receiving NFRs, review and assess for accuracy, look for root causes, document investigation, and provide recommendations to either modify the draft finding or develop and implement corrective action plans (CAP) for final findings. • Review and update, as necessary, CAPs for open and reissued NFRs. Develop actionable milestones with due dates that align with the Audit Roadmap.

• Demonstrating excellent writing and communication skills as significant time is spent drafting/updating communication artifacts (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures, Desktop Guides, whitepapers). • Demonstrating strong customer service skills and the ability to work in occasional high-pressure situations with short deadlines. • Directing and reviewing the work of Senior Associates.

• Communicating status of project-related tasks to Team Lead and client. Qualifications Required Qualifications: • BA/BS/BBA degree from an accredited college/university • Minimum 3 years of progressive, relevant experience • Ability to go onsite 2-3 days a week in Alexandria, VA and Washington, DC • Ability to travel up to 25% • Must have an active Interim Secret Clearance (or higher, such as Secret, Top Secret or TS/SCI) to be considered for this role (requires U.S. citizenship) Preferred Qualifications: • One of the following professional certifications: CPA, CISA, CIA, CGFM or CDFM.

• Experience working with the Federal Government and/or DoW clients • Experience in federal/DoD financial statement auditing, audit remediation, and audit readiness • Experience with financial reporting processes, financial statement compilation, and federal reporting requirements. • Experience researching and applying FASAB, OMB, and Treasury requirements including OMB Circular A-136, and/or the Treasury Financial Manual (TFM) • Experience working with DFAS reporting policy and procedures • Proficient skills in MS Excel • Experience with SharePoint, Oracle, ACL Analytics, PowerBI, and/or Access databases Overview Exclusively focused on the Government, Kearney & Company provides financial services, including auditing, consulting, and technology services. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
