Job description

Job Summary
The Ready-Mix Driver will be responsible for all duties of the position, including the transporting of freshly mixed concrete from the batch plant to the job site in a safe manner. This individual will be responsible for making normal operating adjustments to the equipment and material being hauled. We are seeking a candidate with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and great customer service skills.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Deliver ready-mix concrete to various job sites
  • Operate a multi-axle mixer truck safely, obeying all traffic laws
  • Clean and wash vehicle to include the removal of concrete buildup on all exterior parts of the mixer
  • Must be willing to work according to customer demands
  • Operate a radio to communicate with company personnel
  • Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, state, and federal regulations
  • Responsible for reporting all incidents/injuries to management as soon as they occur
  • Attend safety meetings as scheduled by management

Education
High School Diploma/GED
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Must have current Commercial Class A or B driver's license with airbrakes and tank endorsement
  • Safe driving record - no serious moving violations within the past 36 months; no more than two moving violations within the past 24 months
  • Must have a current Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate
  • Ability to read a map and understand verbal and GPS driving route instructions
  • Must have familiarity with slumps
  • Good attendance and punctuality a must
  • Ability to work in extremes of hot and cold weather
  • Must have the physical ability to: climb, stoop, bend, squat, frequently lift extension chutes (up to 60 lbs.), stretch, drive/sit and shift gears
  • Adhere to all safety regulations including company policies, State, and Federal regulations
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule with flexible hours, hours vary; overtime work, weekends and nights, may be required

Preferred:
  • Experience in ready-mix or heavy construction industries
  • 2+ years of commercial driving experience

Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Safety sensitive and FMCSA regulated require on-going drug and alcohol testing.
