Job description

About the role
Candidate will support assigned service calls for 8-10 retail stores within a geographical area. Will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on large scale commecial and industiral chiller systems as well as RTUs and split systems. Company vehicle, gas card, tools, IPad, and IPhone will be provided.
What you'll do
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial and industrial chiller systems, including centrifugal, screw, scroll, and reciprocating chillers.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with refrigeration circuits, compressors, evaporators, condensers, and other system components.
  • Service and maintain pumps used in HVAC systems, including chilled water and condenser water pumps.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot rooftop units (RTUs) and advanced systems like Trane IntelliPaks.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on self-contained water-cooled units (SWUDs).
  • Conduct system performance tests and ensure optimal operation of HVAC systems and associated equipment.
  • Work with building automation systems (BAS) to monitor and adjust chiller and HVAC performance.
  • Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics for troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation of repairs and maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members to provide updates and recommendations.
  • Extensive knowledge of Trane, York and Carrier chillers. Ideal candidate should be able to rebuild them.

What you'll need
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an HVAC technician, with a focus on chiller systems.
  • Hands-on experience with water source heat pumps (WSHP), pumps, rooftop units (RTUs), IntelliPaks, and self-contained water-cooled units (SWUDs).
  • Experience with commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles and principles.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and control issues in HVAC systems.
  • Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 2 years of related experience and/or trade school training.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record with periodic checks
  • Possess necessary skills to functionally operate a "full size" van/truck
  • Universal CFC or EPA certification preferred.
  • Excellent social skills, including oral and written communications
  • Uses computer and / or PDA for work order system, email, and training.
