A highly reputable HVAC and Building Automation provider is seeking an experienced Sr. BAS Controls Technician to support complex controls projects throughout the Dallas, TX metropolitan area. This role involves advanced BAS programming, troubleshooting, commissioning, and system optimization for commercial, institutional, and mission-critical facilities.

About the Opportunity:

The Sr. BAS Controls Technician will take a lead role in designing, configuring, programming, starting up, and commissioning advanced building automation systems. This position requires deep technical skill in Tridium Niagara (N4 preferred) along with experience integrating various BAS platforms such as Distech or Siemens Desigo. You will support both air-side and water-side systems, develop programming from scratch, and ensure high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program, configure, and commission BAS/DDC systems (Tridium required; Siemens Desigo or Distech strongly preferred)
  • Design and configure complex control systems based on engineered sequences and system requirements
  • Create control diagrams, sequences of operation (SOO), device schedules, BOMs, and network architecture
  • Perform BAS start-up, functional testing, troubleshooting, and system optimization
  • Conduct point-to-point checkouts and follow commissioning protocols
  • Develop graphics, dashboards, and databases for operator interfaces
  • Modify and improve existing BAS programs to enhance system performance
  • Supervise installation teams during start-up and implementation phases
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical contractors, engineers, end users, and building owners
  • Provide clear documentation, reporting, and status updates to internal teams and clients
  • Work in a project-focused, team-driven environment to ensure successful project outcomes
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • 5+ years of experience as a BAS Controls Technician or similar controls engineering role
  • Strong programming capability in Tridium Niagara (required)
  • Experience with Siemens Desigo or Distech is a significant plus
  • Deep understanding of HVAC systems, control strategies, and mechanical fundamentals
  • Ability to design, configure, and commission BAS systems independently
  • Strong grasp of wiring, terminations, communication networks, and device calibration
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
