A growing Building Automation & HVAC Controls contractor is seeking a skilled BAS Controls Technician to support commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities throughout the Dover region. This role involves hands-on installation, programming assistance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of modern DDC/BAS systems used for energy management and HVAC optimization.

About the Role

This position focuses on field installation, startup, and service of DDC/BAS control systems for HVAC equipment, energy management, and building performance applications. You'll work closely with mechanical contractors, facility engineers, and project teams to ensure systems operate efficiently and meet design requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, terminate, and configure BAS/DDC hardware and wiring
  • Perform functional testing, commissioning, and point-to-point checkout
  • Troubleshoot sensors, controllers, actuators, and field panels
  • Assist with programming edits, logic adjustments, and graphics updates
  • Install and verify field devices, including temperature, humidity, pressure, and flow sensors
  • Support HVAC equipment startup (RTUs, boilers, AHUs, VAVs, heat pumps, etc.)
  • Document wiring changes, redlines, service logs, and commissioning reports
  • Communicate effectively with customers, general contractors, and internal project staff
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Experience as a BAS Controls Technician or HVAC Controls Specialist
  • Strong troubleshooting ability with BAS/DDC systems and HVAC equipment
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation drawings
