Base Pay Range: $74,470-105,000

The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Position Summary

The Senior Trade Compliance Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring Banner Engineering’s compliance with global trade regulations. This position combines strong technical classification expertise with process improvement, risk mitigation, and global collaboration responsibilities. The role supports accurate trade data, efficient global operations, and continuous improvement initiatives while helping protect the company from trade-related risk and supporting international growth.

This position reports to the Global Trade Compliance Export Manager

According to the FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act), this position is classified as:

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working both individually and collaboratively, staying on top of tasks, and making a meaningful impact across teams and projects. Below are some key responsibilities of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and lead HTS classification, ECCN analysis/validation, COO determinations, AD/CVD applicability reviews, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Analyze product data, bills of materials (BOM), technical documentation, and content-based requirements (aluminum, steel, copper certifications) to ensure accurate classification and minimize duty exposure.
  • Conduct FDA and Partner Government Agency (PGA) reviews and support import/export documentation accuracy.
  • Support and coordinate global classification consistency across U.S., Mexico, Canada, and Poland operations.
  • Serve as a technical resource for classification, COO, ECCN, import entry, broker process, and free trade agreement questions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Sourcing, Logistics, Import, Brokerage, and other cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and documentation accuracy.
  • Support continuous improvement, automation, reporting, and data integrity initiatives using Oracle, QlikSense, and related systems.
  • Monitor tariff changes, trade remedies, duty implications, and evolving global trade regulations; identify risks and recommend mitigation actions.
  • Support audits, disclosures, duty drawback, value reconciliation, free trade programs, and other trade compliance initiatives.
  • Assist with training, knowledge sharing, SOP development, and process standardization across global trade compliance functions.
  • Identify recurring compliance gaps, recommend corrective actions, and support implementation of sustainable solutions.

Required

  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in trade compliance, classification, and import/export operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong expertise in HTS classification, ECCN, COO determination, and U.S. import/export regulations.
  • Knowledge of international customs laws, trade practices, and global regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulations and communicate requirements effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred), Microsoft Office, and data analytics/reporting tools such as QlikSense.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.

 

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Licensed Customs Broker, Certified Export Specialist (CES), or strong desire to attain professional certification.
  • Experience supporting compliance automation, reporting enhancements, or system integration initiatives.
  • Experience in global manufacturing or high-tech environments with complex product structures.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This role may lead project teams or coordinate efforts across departments but does not have direct supervisory responsibility over other employees.
