Legal Assistant – Bankruptcy

Seeking qualified legal assistant candidates for their Bankruptcy and Creditor's Rights/General Litigation Department supporting multiple attorneys.

This is an in-office position.

Description:

  • Prepare, draft, and review legal documents such as petitions, declarations, and bankruptcy schedules
  • Process and file various bankruptcy case forms and documents
  • Maintain confidentiality and properly handle sensitive client information
  • Communicate with clients and court officials to schedule appointments, hearings, and meetings
  • Monitor case progress, follow up on deadlines, and keep the attorney updated
  • Organize and maintain case files, client correspondence, and other related records
  • Assist attorneys in the preparation for court hearings and client meetings
  • Handle client queries related to the bankruptcy process
  • Ensure all legal practices and procedures comply with federal and state laws

Requirements:

  • Two (2) years’ experience in a commercial or civil litigation practice.
  • Knowledge of Federal and Florida state court rules is strongly desired.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, client-oriented focus, professional demeanor, initiative, analytical thinking, attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Candidates must also have solid computer skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with a Document Management System is a plus.
