Founded in 1991, Zwicker represents lenders in various consumer and commercial recovery efforts and litigation. Zwicker is headquartered in Andover, Massachusetts, and has office locations across the United States.


Zwicker & Associates is seeking a candidate to join its Bankruptcy Department in its Andover, Massachusetts, office as a Legal Assistant. This department is responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of accounts throughout the Chapter 7, 11, 12 and 13 bankruptcy processes while adhering to federal, state and district guidelines to minimize risk and loss to the creditors. The position will be primarily on-site.


The base hourly rate for this position is $19 - $21.


Responsibilities include

• Draft basic bankruptcy court documents, such as Creditor Requests for Notices, accurately

• Assist with the review of daily reports as needed

• Retrieve and redact account statements and loan agreements

• Ability to read, understand, and analyze bankruptcy information to determine appropriate action

• Review, sort and process bankruptcy correspondence sent to the firm electronically or through traditional mail

• Print and mail documents at the direction of the Bankruptcy Department’s Attorneys or Paralegals

• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

· Previous administrative experience in a law firm or other financial or banking institution;

· Effective written and verbal communication skills;

· Proficiency with Microsoft and Adobe products;

· Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the bankruptcy and loan servicing fields;

· Strong organizational skills with an ability to multi-task and prioritize;

· Attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to maintain confidential information;

· Proficient computer skills with a high comfort level with various software;

· Excellent oral and written communication skills;

· Basic knowledge of debt collection laws and regulations.

· Be able to communicate in a common language with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing

· Be able to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device

· Be able to complete a minimum of a 40-hour flexible workweek schedule

· Be able to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence


Physical Qualifications:

· Be able to lift five pounds or greater

· Be able to sit 90% of the workday at times

· Be able to bend at the waist and be mobile when needed

· Be able to concentrate and use critical thinking
