Career Opportunity: Bank Operations & Bookkeeping Specialist with Farmers and Merchants Bank in Dayton, OH

 


Do you like being the go‐to person for banking operations—from customer questions to internal support? Are you ready to keep things moving with professionalism and a proactive attitude? If you answer yes, we want to speak with you!


As the Bank Operations & Bookkeeping Specialist, you will support the day‐to‐day financial operations of the bank while delivering responsive internal and external service. You’ll ensure transactions are posted accurately and on time, research and resolve account issues, support digital banking channels, and help keep our back‐office engine running smoothly and compliantly.


Additionally, you will:

  • Assist with phone coverage and answer customers’ bookkeeping/account questions.
  • Provide operations support to bank employees across branches and departments.
  • Process wire transfers and support Customer Bill Pay, Online Banking, and Mobile App inquiries.
  • Monitor and research unposted and suspense items, overdraft items, and mobile deposits.
  • Handle debit card/Zelle fraud reviews and follow‐ups.
  • Perform Kasasa end‐of‐cycle processing.
  • Manage overdraft charge‐offs and associated reporting.
  • Process and respond to garnishments, bank levies, subpoenas, and child support orders in accordance with policy.
  • Manage IOLTA-related activities with precision and care.
  • Perform accounts payable, general ledger posting and monitoring, and internal checking account reconciliations.


Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of bookkeeping and transaction processing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to complete tasks accurately and on time.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • A self‐starter mindset; able to work with minimal supervision, manage multiple priorities, and exercise sound judgment.
  • A proactive, customer‐focused attitude and consistently professional demeanor.
  • Effective time management and interpersonal skills.
