Job Summary:
The Department of Clinical Laboratories, Blood Bank at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/per diem Clinical Lab Technologist 2. The successful candidate will:
  • Perform all aspects of Blood Bank testing, including but not limited to: ABO/Rh Typing, Crossmatching, Antibody Detection, and identification with appropriate follow-ups.
  • Maintain quality control of equipment and reagents.
  • Manage meticulous record keeping and utilize follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrate flexibility as duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above position description.

Required Qualifications:
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or eligible to apply for licensure.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Chemical or Biological Sciences.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • ASCP certification.
  • Prior Blood Bank work experience.
