GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Band Saw operators use a CNC controlled saw to produce parts by utilizing engineering documents.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES

  • Make sure parts match engineering release documents
  • Verify that the cut list from project planning matches the engineering release documents
  • Pull material from yard using tow motor
  • Verify drawings and cut list
  • Determine best cutting nest for piece that comes out of material
  • Operate machine knowing feeds and speeds of machine per cutting material
  • Maintain tradability of material
  • Fill out inventory sheets

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Team player/problem solver
  • Flexible, willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done
  • Able to work with co-workers effectively as well as manage a fast paced environment
  • Able to communicate effectively either by written word, word of mouth, or email
  • Experience with automated/programmable equipment consoles
  • Experience with tow motors/pallet jacks
  • Experience with overhead cranes/rigging of large materials (i.e. plates, heads)
  • Able to keep work area clean and well organized
  • Experience with a wide variety of stainless steel alloys
  • Proficient in the interpretation of mechanical and assembly drawings
  • Must possess the ability to layout and create parts from drawings accurately
  • Skill in the use of trigonometry, shop math, and construction formulae
  • Must be able to read a tape measure up to 1/16โ€ of an inch

EDUCATIONAL/PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS
