Job description

Warehouse Saw Operator – 2nd Shift

Troy, MI

SB Specialty Metals LLC is seeking a motivated, dependable, and safety-focused Warehouse Saw Operator to join our team in Troy, Michigan. This position is responsible for cutting steel products to customer specifications, operating industrial band saw equipment, and performing general warehouse and material handling duties.

Schedule

2nd Shift

  • Monday through Friday

  • 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

  • 30-minute unpaid lunch break

Training will be completed on 1st shift prior to transitioning to 2nd shift.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate industrial band saw equipment to cut steel products to customer specifications

  • Read and interpret work orders, measurements, and material requirements

  • Accurately use measuring tools and instruments

  • Perform material handling activities, including loading, unloading, and moving steel products

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

  • Follow all company quality and safety procedures

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Manufacturing, warehouse, steel processing, or industrial experience preferred

  • Previous band saw experience is a plus, but we are willing to train candidates with strong manufacturing experience and a willingness to learn

  • Strong mathematical skills

  • Ability to work with decimals, fractions, and measurements

  • Ability to accurately read measuring instruments and specifications

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Requirements

  • Must successfully pass a background check

  • Must successfully pass a drug screening, including testing for THC/marijuana
