Who You Are

We are seeking an experience Back Office Manager for a Full Time role working in a clinical setting. As a member of the health care team, the Back Office Manager provides supervision to the back office support staff while performing nursing duties for the care of patients within the scope of their license. The Back Office Manager will:

  • Provide orientation, training and competency assessment of the medical support staff. Will provide technical and professional support to the Lead Medical Assistants and care team.
  • Provide leadership to medical support staff to ensure licensed and certified staff are functioning within their scope of practice and promote staff working at the top of their license/certification.
  • In the absence of full staffing, the Back Office Manager will assist medical providers in the treatment of patients, as needed to include but not limited to ambulatory care procedures, e.g. pelvic exams, suturing lacerations, vision, and hearing tests.
  • Perform patient care as directed by the medical provider, and according to organization protocols.
  • Perform basic lab tests as outlined in the Laboratory Services Manual.
  • Ensure referrals for outside medical services are done in a timely manner at each site and train Medical Assistants to assist with scheduling patient referrals.
  • Address emergency situations in a controlled and professional manner.
  • Complete other nursing tasks as assigned by Site Manager or medical provider.
  • Ensure constant, professional and effective communication is occurring with front office (reception).
  • Assist provider with appropriate paperwork (CHDP forms, referrals, PPC forms, etc.) for each patient chart.
  • Actively participate in the Medical Department's Performance Improvement activities.
  • Keep all tracking systems up-to-date.
  • Ensure all back office staff has completed EHR training, and can comfortably navigate the system.
  • Provide oversight of Lead MA in the VFC Program.
  • Act as the secondary Health and Safety Designee
  • Assist with health plan audits, accreditation surveys, and other onsite assessments, as directed by the Compliance Officer
  • Comply with all MACT policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Need
  • Current California Registered Nurse with 1 year clinical management experience, or
  • Current California LVN a minimum of 2 years clinical management experience, or
  • Current California Certified Medical Assistant with 5 years clinical management experience.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Availability to work with a variable schedule.
  • Ability to travel to all sites.
  • Current BLS/ALS certificate
  • Must pass Occupational Health Screening.
  • Must possess a valid form of identification as listed on the U.S. Department of Justice I-9 form, verified using the E Verify system.
  • Clean DMV driving record and MACT auto insurance driving eligibility (determined by auto insurance carrier).

The position requires an awareness and keen appreciation of American Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs and the ability at all times to meet and deal effectively in contacts with Indian health organizations which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.
